Job Description

UIP Africa is seeking a skilled and proactive IT Administrator to manage and support the company’s IT infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining systems, networks, and hardware, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability to support business operations.

This role requires a hands-on individual with strong technical skills and the ability to troubleshoot, implement solutions, and support users across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install,  configure, and maintain computer systems, servers, and networks
  • Manage  user accounts, permissions, and access controls
  • Perform  regular system backups and ensure data integrity
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues
  • Maintain  and support office hardware (PCs, printers, networking equipment)
  • Manage  software installations, updates, and licensing (e.g., antivirus, Office      365, specialized engineering software)
  • Administer cloud services and platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, Nextcloud, or similar)
  • Ensure  network security, including firewalls, antivirus, and access policies
  • Provide technical support to staff and resolve IT-related issues
  • Document  IT procedures, systems, and configurations
  • Support IT projects such as system upgrades, migrations, and new deployments

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s      Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • At      least 2–4 years of experience in an IT support or system administration      role

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server and desktop environments
  • Experience with networking (LAN/WAN, routers, switches, firewalls)
  • Familiarity with virtualization and storage systems (e.g., TrueNAS, VMware, or      similar)
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange, Entra ID, Intune is an added      advantage)
  • Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery processes
  • Basic knowledge of cybersecurity best practices
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and user support skills

  • Experience managing IT assets and inventory systems
  • Certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft certifications)
